I agree. Its virtually impossible to buy a new
computer these days without buying Windows
95. I've contacted many vendors asking them if
I can get OS/2 preloaded or, second best, a
blank hard drive so I can install OS/2 myself.
The answer always seems to be "we don't ship
computers without operating systems, and your
choice is Windows 95 or Windows NT." I hate
paying for something I'm only going to erase
once I get the computer.

The real issue is restraint of trade, & anyone
who's tried to buy Win95
osr2 separately from 'a new computer' knows
Justice is right & Gil Bates
& Co. wrong.
ObXyW observation: despite persistent rumors
to the contrary, the
Cyrix 6x86-166 _is_ compatible with OS/2,
Linux, Win95, & XyW III+ (&
other Xy ver, according to private testimony by
others in this list).
