Thanks Jack and Annie. Actually there is an easier way. I found
it by looking (of all places) through xywin help (Search "key
assignments").
The combo Control-Shift-Alt-C does the trick. A look into the
keyboard files reveals that that key (#46 in the C-S-A table) has
the following assignment:
46=XH,JM,(,C,o,p,y,T,o,C,M,)
What this means is that the nice folks at TTG/Xyquest have a menu
routine they call "CopyToCM", which does just what I want (XH
clears any open help screens or menu selections). I have now
assigned the same command to the otherwise unassigned C-S-Grey+
key. That's close enough to the way Notabene does it (and
preserves the number pad as a number pad--which I like). The
single key combo is really quite convenient when doing specific
search and replace routines from the command line. Try it.
