For whatever it is worth, I long ago learned that in XY3+, a SAVE command when I am finished writing a footnote first closes the footnote and then writes everything to disk. Evidently AUTOSV is doing the same thing, which suggests that XyWrite was structured so that a SAVE automatically invoked the command to close a footnote before executing a write to disk. Pardon if somebody already discussed this; I am just back from vacation.Fred Gross M.W. Poirier wrote:I've encountered an inelegancy in the way AUTOSV operates, and I wonder if it can be modified. If I am working in a footnote when it decides to save, it saves, but it also jumps out of the footnote to the main text. Is there a way to prevent it from jumping out of the note, since I would like to be the one to decide whether I want to leave the note or not? M.W. Poirier
