I was able to access these urls, so maybe they are in a good mood now. For
most of the sites, the focus for these applications is a Linux/Unix flavor.
That being said, most linux/unix apps do provide a way to compile them for
windows, if there isn't a binary already.
The sites also mentioned other avenues such as a viewer for word files from
MS itself.
They also mentioned the open source wordprocessor abiword, and that it also
will read Word files.
I would suggest trying the sites again, and maybe sending some mail to those
administrators asking about the availability of a Dos or Windows port.
