What shape does this conniption take? I've never seen that...
and I share all my drives "whole", under W2K. No protest signs
at all.

Or use a $50 hardware router and forget about it. Nobody can
get past that unless you literally invite them in. IMO, the
real danger lies in fake Emails, and for that reason you really
really really need to be able to see the headers. My Email
client shows all headers for EVERY message. Be particularly
alert to the "Return-Path:" line -- it generally tells the
truth, no matter who or what an email pretends to be.
