Re: VirtualBox: Can't start VM

Carl,

This is too obvious, so I'm very likely wrong, but isn't there a hardware "master switch" (in your BIOS settings) that must be turned ON, in order to enable hardware virtualisation ?

ISTR there being some pre-requisite module install(s) for XP Mode, so my other guess would be something along those lines for this one.

Subject: VirtualBox: Can't start VM

I've got the new machine running and decided, as a first gambit, to try
Virtual Box under the installed OS, Win7-64 Home Premium. I've installed
VBox 4.3.14 and created a Win7-32 virtual machine. When I try to start
the VM, however, I get the following:

-- Quote --
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine MS-Win7-32.

The virtual machine 'MS-Win7-32' has terminated unexpectedly during
startup with exit code 1.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Machine
Interface: IMachine {480cf695-2d8d-4256-9c7c-cce4184fa048}
-- Unquote --

Suggestions?
