Re: vDOS-lfn.151 FONT teething problems

Hi Bill,

You are right that if you don't define C:=C:\ then C:\ will be default to the vDos(-lfn) folder. I guess that C: being defined to be C:\ is only for the reason of consistency with the actual Windows drive, but this is not at all necessary for vDos(-lfn) to function.

Many thanks, I'll figure it out over the weekend. One question: if I remove C=C, will C:\ revert to the Vdos folder? This may be a source of my problems.

Hi Bill,

As with the earlier vDosXy, you need to use "rem" instead of ";" to comment out directives in vDos-lfn's config.txt. You see error messages generally because there are errors in the configuration file. In the vDos-lfn for XyWrite installations made by Kari, the configuration files like config.txt are automatically backed up to for example config.bak, config.ba1, config.ba2. One solution is to restore the configuration file to some earlier version in this case. Hope this helps.

Now on startup I'm getting the message

What I did was change consolas to lucon, but when I tried to change
back to the original line the error remained. At that point, the
program is unstable. Xy4 reports disk overflow at once and the
program soon freezes. OK, I fixed that, I did something really dumb,
used ; to comment out instead of rem. But I'm still getting disk full
messages and startup.int isn't automatically invoked.
