Dear Mr. Howe:
Here's a simple, effective method which you can undertake yourself,
for converting XyWrite files to MSWord.
Grab these two files:
http://www.tgrp.com/DownLoad/Utils_Drivers/misc/W4W17F.EXE
http://www.tgrp.com/DownLoad/Utils_Drivers/misc/W4W19T.EXE
>From a DOS prompt, situate in a directory containing these two files
and all the XyWrite docs you wish to convert. Issue the following two
commands, replacing the dummy filenames mentioned below (xydoc.fil,
rtfdoc.rtf) with your actual filenames (one file at a time, two
commands for each file conversion; give the destination file [second
command] a new name each time, obviously):
W4W17F.EXE xydoc.fil /N /V2
*Wait* for this command to finish! It creates many files, and the
program needs a second or two to erase all but one of them
(W4W99INT.TMP) before you continue. Now create your new target
(converted) RTF file:
W4W19T.EXE rtfdoc.rtf /N /V0
Then individually import each resulting RTF file into SmallLimp Word
-- remember to select "Files of _t_ype: Rich Text Format (*.rtf)" in
the box at the bottom of Word's Open File dialog.
All done. Let us know whether it works for you, please. And please
send future msgs to this maillist as plain text, not HTML. Thanks.
Good luck.
