Lynn, A single keystroke or mouse click is all it takes. Cutting and pasting between host and virtual machine) and printing, scanning, and other functions are just as easy. If you don't want your virtual machine to use the internet, that's no problem, and it means that no viruses will be able to get into the virtual machine. I have mine configured to access the internet, but only for backing up all files to the cloud. I do have antivirus software on my virtual machine and the firewall is in activated. In nearly two years' of use, I have never had any intrusion of viruses or malware intrude into that guest machine. VMWare Player really works very well for me.
