. It is the responsibility of the SENDER to make sure when they
are posting to a mailing list that:

1) They do not include any attachments (unless the list members
somehow allow this)
2) They are responding to the correct address (i.e., either the
single individual poster or to the list)
3) They postpone or unsubscribe before using any automated
reply features (like .vacation files for instance)
4) They turn off any automated message received replies that their
email program might send out to mailing lists
5) They don't copy the entire message and resend it to the list
each time.
6) They send all requests for administrative requests to the mlm
program (usually listserv or listproc @ wherever) not the list
itself
7) They contact the list owner and not the list itself when they
have a problem

And the list goes on. But those are the biggies.
