Thanks for passing along your cursor suggestion. I had high hopes till I read Robert's message saying it won't work in a standard Xy program (I have 3.57, BTW, everyone).
What papers? I ask not because I'm salivating over your operating system but because I too am a refugee from newspapers (Newsday, San Jose Mercury News, among others).
