No--it's the version of Windows (Win95 is 4.0 and Win 98 is 4.10 --and
both have various appended letters for later "enhanced" versions).

Your version of DOS is probably 7.0, but you probably won't need to care
about that number.

That means that wherever you have to include the path to your Windows
directory, type the actual directory name as it appears on your
setup. Lots of people change from the default C:\WINDOWS directory, but
the vast majority accept that name to minimize conflicts with dumb
installation programs.

If you have the setting DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS, add this line *after* your
EMM386.EXE line:

DOS=HIGH,UMB
