I use the XyWrite 3+ WC command all the time (and WCB which counts words
backwards from the cursor, very convenient for seeing how much you've
already written).
XyWrite seems to count as a word anything that is separated by a space or
punctuation mark. So "type-space" would be 2 words, "100.00" would be 2
words, and "100,000.00" would be 3 words. In Word, "type-space" and
"100,000.00" are 1 word. In XyWrite, "N.I. Lobachevsky" is 3 words, while
in Word it's 2 words.
