Ultravision

I've just inherited a somewhat dated but serviceable laptop: IBM 380D. I
installed XyDos easily, then tried Laptop Ultravision 2.12, which Robert
Kubie was kind and generous enough to send along. I installed UV in the VGA
mode and was only able to get 3/4 of the DOS screen. Text looks great on
3/4 but it would be nice to get the whole thing. Tried using, as the manual
suggests, the command "PS2 HVEXP ON" at the DOS prompt to extend the
screen, but apparently UV takes things over. (This command works fine
without UV on.) There may indeed be a switch in Laptop UV to deal with
this, but we do not have the documentation and can not, after trying many
things, quite figure this out. One final note: when you install UV in the
EGA mode, you in fact get the full screen, but not the benefits of those
extra pixels that make the DOS text so readable. It might have something to
do with the 380D running in 800X600 -- I do not have the technical
background to say for sure. Perhaps this is an IBM quirk or a PS2 quirk.
I've used a version of Laptop UV on an old B&W Toshiba Portage and it works
just fine, full screen and great text. Any thoughts would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you.
