According to the seven deadly sins hompage (www.deadlysins.com),
which of course you will want to bookmark, "in the late 6th century, Pope
Gregory the Great reduced the list to seven items, folding vainglory into
pride, acedia into sadness, and adding envy."

What is the origin of the 7 deadly sins.
(I don't mean it's mention in Canterbury Tales, or
Bosch or Gilligan's Island) where does it come
from originally? TIA
