A very generous gesture! Thank you. May I suggest that you
need to solicit a bit more info than just "what printers
work". A template for user contributions might be:

specific version of XyWrite
operating system version (very important!)
printer make and model
XyWrite PRiNter file (PRN driver)
network printer, or locally attached to user's computer
type of physical PORT used (LPT, USB, serial, whatever
 -- VERY important info!)
PORT mappings (in SETTINGS.DFL and also in Port settings in
the Printer "Properties" -- for example, how does user
manage the trick of getting XyWrite's LPT mappings to work
 with a USB printer?)
other wrinkles deemed important by user...

Thanks again. This will be enormously useful. If you want
to post the info at XyWWWeb, contact me privately -- we'll
give you a separate page for this data

Here's my (rather ordinary) report, covering both past and
present printers:

*********************************
	XyWrite v4.018
Windows 2000 Pro SP4+
Windows XP Pro SP1
OS/2 MCP2

HP LaserJet II, III, IIIp
 built-in XyQuest PRNs (HPLJ-2.PRN, HPLJ-3.PRN, HPLJ-3P.PRN)
HP LaserJet 1100A
 HPLJ-4.PRN
All printers assigned to LPT1 in SETTINGS.DFL
(a dummy setting in a network environment; see below)
both local and network setups
network setup:
NetGear PS110 "Print Server port" (port installed by
NetGear Print Server software). Device Name="PS",
  Port Name="P1"
Print Server, attached to my network router, has fixed
  IP address on network: 192.168.1.10
Procedure to Print (managed by private frame in U2):
"TYF" the file first, which produces FO.TMP
Send FO.TMP to network printer with LPR.EXE:
   lpr.exe -S 192.168.1.10 -P PS_P1 -o l d:\xy4\FO.TMP <==Windows
   lpr.exe -S 192.168.1.10 -P PS_P1 -b d:\xy4\FO.TMP  <==OS/2
_Instantaneous_ printing (<1 second pause before starts to print!)

Best regards,

R.
