Printing and Quitting . . .
- Subject: Printing and Quitting . . .

I'm working on a small application that will load XY4.017 DOS at 03:00 each
morning (using OS/2's CRON), run a short xpl program, and then quit Xywrite.
The xpl program will call a short text file (a tape backup log), apply some
formatting and add some completion messages, and then print the file. The last
line of the xpl is "quit", to exit from Xywrite.
It appears that when a TY is encountered in an xpl program, it is "held" until
the program completes (?) So even if I insert a pause of say 60 seconds (more
than enough time to print the 20 line file), when the program gets to the quit
it finds the print job still waiting and asks "Still printing, Quit Y/N"
Does anyone know of a way to force the print to complete, so that when the
program gets to quit the printing is done? (Let me add that I have the lurking
suspicion that I'm overlooking something obvious here, but it's been a few days
and I'm ready to admit defeat.)
Many thanks.
