I seem to recall the thesaurus in XyIII+ being a licensed version
of Microlytics's "Word Finder" (which is not customizable).
A shareware program called ThesaurPlus is a thesaurus that you can
build. (I created a thesaurus of slang and unconventional English
with it). Root words, synonymy, expressions, etc. This is an
older program (1990'ish) and I don't know its current status nor
its compatibility with today's DOS versions. Ran as a standalone
or pop-up TSR, as I recall. You can probably find it for download
at the "Files related to linguistics" section in the Garbo DOS archives.
