Since John Negus's offer found some takers, I'd like to do the same
for these files:
APPLICATION NOTE #123
TESTING WIDTH TABLES IN XYWRITE III AND III PLUS
Rev. 03
The PTEST (Printer Test) command lets you test the accuracy of the
width tables in your printer file. This command is useful when you are
creating a new printer file or making major changes to an existing file.
APPLICATION NOTE #129
INSTALLING A NEW PRINTER OR KEYBOARD FILE
Rev. 02
This application note explains the procedure for installing a new
XyWrite keyboard file or printer file. You would perform this procedure
if you modified your hardware configuration by changing the printer or
keyboard, or if you received an updated printer or keyboard file from
XYQUEST.
APPLICATION NOTE #153
USING THE HP FONTLOAD PROGRAM WITH XYWRITE
Rev. 01
Hewlett-Packard sells a font download utility called FontLoad which
works with its LaserJet and LaserJet II printers. It also works with
true HP compatibles such as the Kyocera and Okidata Laserline. For
XyWrite's purposes, FontLoad is used to download a specific set of
soft fonts to the printer.
APPLICATION NOTE #160
USING THE HP SERIES II WITH S1 OR S2 CARTRIDGES
Rev. 02
The XyWrite printer file, 3HP-S.PRN, supports the S1 (92290S1) and
the S2 (92290S2) Font Cartridges, which can be used with either the
Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Series II or the HP LaserJet 2000 printers.
This application note describes using both cartridges.
APPLICATION NOTE #162
CREATING A PT (PRINT TYPE) TABLE TO DEFINE ADDITIONAL FONTS
Rev. 01
XyWrite uses PT (Print Type) tables for easy switching between two
or more fonts. Due to space limitations on our master disks, standard
XyWrite printer files are not set up to access all the fonts or
attributes that are available with your printer. Instead, the printer
files define the attributes and fonts, and provide sample PT tables.
APPLICATION NOTE #169
USING THE HP LASERJET IID PRINTER WITH XYWRITE
Rev. 01
This application note contains some tips for using a Hewlett-Packard
LaserJet IID printer with XyWrite III Plus, Version 3.55. It addresses
those questions most frequently asked of XYQUEST's Technical Support
department regarding the LaserJet IID.
APPLICATION NOTE #170
ADDING 3RD-PARTY FONTS TO AN ADVANCED LASERJET PRINTER
Rev. 04
Most Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printers support downloadable soft fonts
in addition to the internal fonts supplied with the printer... This
application note gives you the information you need to make the required
changes to the printer files for a LaserJet IID, IIP, III, IIID, IIIP,
or IIISi printer file.
APPLICATION NOTE #192
USING THE HP LASERJET III WITH XYWRITE III PLUS
Rev. 01
This application note contains some tips for using a Hewlett-Packard
LaserJet III printer with XyWrite III Plus, Version 3.55 or later. It
addresses those questions most frequently asked of XYQUEST's Technical
Services Department regarding the LaserJet III.
APPLICATION NOTE #198
USING THE HP DESKJET 500 WITH XYWRITE III PLUS
This application note describes the DeskJet 500 printer files, gives
instructions for modifying them, and provides detailed instructions on
how to print your documents in landscape orientation and on envelopes.
APPLICATION NOTE #206
USING THE HP LASERJET IIIP PRINTER WITH XYWRITE
This application note contains some tips for using a Hewlett-Packard
LaserJet IIIP printer with XyWrite III Plus, Version 3.55 or later. It
addresses those questions most frequently asked of XYQUEST's Technical
Services Department regarding the LaserJet IIIP.
APPLICATION NOTE #207
USING THE HP LASERJET IIISI PRINTER WITH XYWRITE
This application note contains some tips for using a Hewlett-Packard
LaserJet IIISi printer with XyWrite III Plus, Version 3.55 or later.
APPLICATION NOTE #208
AUTOMATIC NETWORK LOGIN
The network version of XyWrite III Plus requires users to log in
before they can create and edit files... This application note describes
a procedure that allows users to login as part of the XyWrite startup
process. A variation on the procedure calls a file after the login is
complete.
APPLICATION NOTE #209
DETERMINING LINE COUNTS
XyWrite includes a Page-Line indicator that tells you on which line
the cursor is positioned. However, what you may want is a total count
of the number of lines. This application note describes two programs
that you can use to quickly and easily determine line count.
(and for anyone with insatiable nostalgia, i even found a directory
listing from the XyQuest BB on Oct. 19, 1990.)
