Read-Only problems are absolutely rife on the C: drive in
Windows XP or higher. It's a powerful reason to partition your
disk and put your applications on D:, E:, F:, etc.
Amen, Jawohl, yes indeedy. But we've been over and over this.
Mind, I've never been able to get _Windows native_ apps to go
anywhere but C:\Program Files, but they usually have some
built-in smarts to handle the R attribute. But DOS apps go on D:,
and all data on e:, even if I have to fight the Win apps to put
it there.
