Concerning the identification of XyWriting journalists through occasional
three-byte code droppings:

My favorite XyWriter spotting was several years back in The New Republic.
They printed a little piece by one of their staff confessing his habitual
surrender to the impulse to buy newer, faster, smarter computer equipment,
rather than to hold onto his money and wait till the price of the thing he
coveted tumbled in the wake of a still newer, still faster, still smarter
device.

Go ahead and buy the latest...doesn't sound like the typical curmudgeonly
XyWriter to you? Ah, but the title of the article betrayed the word
processing preference of the writer (or of the magazine, or at least of
some enterprising editor):

"No Save/Get"
