Footnotes yet again (was Re: Xy4 spelling and Microlytics)

I'd like to know what they are. Sorry to bring up this tedious matter of
footnotes yet again, but early this morning I hurriedly produced something
six pages long that has about one wrongly sited footnote per page. Your
page size is probably different from mine (A4), and other variables
probably differ too, but I'd still find your settings educational.
