Since the time I posted the message, a program has been cobbled together for me
by a tech in my main office and Jim Franklin, who has contributed a number of
xpl programs to the IBMAPP forum on compuserve. I'm told there may be a small
glitch in it if the material in notes (MDRV) mode appears at the top of the
file, but so far I have not had any problems. I'll upload here, once I figure
out how
