Thanks for the pointers, but what I'm trying to do is to have flush right
at the top of every page, the following
information: Art Levine 1
next
page: Art Levine 2
etc.
Carl gave an excellent. detailed answer. I just wanted to add that you
should get used to looking at what happens in "expanded mode"--which
reveals the coding that's right there in your document in the place where
it takes effect. This is one great advantage of Xy over Word: you can see
what's going on, and it isn't rocket science.
In expanded mode, the little deltas, or triangles, open up to show you the
content, such as where you start a bold and where the font
returns to normal. "MD" stands for "mode" and, of course, "BO" stands for
"bold" and "NM" for normal.
How, you are asking (I hope) do I get into expanded mode? That depends on
your .kbd file. The standard .kbd file for Xy3+ does it with ctrl-F9. That
key combo also toggles back to normal display.
If your .kbd file is not standard and this doesn't work for you, you can
always do the more cumbersome:
F5 func xp
then to get back to regular:
F5 func wg
Here, "" means you just hit the ENTER key to execute the command (F9
does it too, but ENTER is easier).
It's easier, and less mysterious, to go to expanded mode and put stuff
inside the guillemets than to go to the command line all the time. Expanded
mode shows you what's really there in your document.
Finally, the answer to your original question is: you just type in your
name inside the guillemets, where you want it to be and as you want it to
be. Very straightforward.
Is that clear?
