laptops, dell vs ibm

≪≪≪ The other
thing remarkable I have discovered is that the Dell keyboards are now I
think much better than the IBMs, although they are quite a bit noiser --
though not too obtrusively so. However, the placement of the left and right
trackpad/point keys on the Dell Inspiron 8100 is what I still find hateful.
Let's see if I get used to it. ≫≫≫≫≫

The last laptop I had was a Dell and was very happy with it. As far as
support goes, they are exceptionally eager, it seems. I had problems with
my screen and no questions asked replaced the whole screen and "spiffed up"
some other worn edges here and there. All done in less than a week. I on
the other hand am having problems liking the rubber end tracking device in
the middle of the key board on my IBM Thinkpad, and I don't like the
placement of the DEL, INS, etc., keys. One of the reasons I bought the
Thinkpad was because of the great keyboard reviews. However, I find myself
missing the Dell keyboard now. Other than that, I'm happy with the Thinkpad.
It somehow gives off a very professional "demeanor."

(perhaps I'll start thinking about saving for a MAC desktop instead of
laptop. toys, toys, toys.....)
