Thanks to all for the informative replies. I must have had the syntax
wrong, because when I tried TYPEF again it worked, both for a single
file and a batch. TYF is an abbreviation of TYPEF, and also works.
Here's what worked to print my batch list:

typef @list,lpt3

p.s. The XyWrite manual says that acceptable device names for TYPEF are
COM1, COM2, LPT1, and LPT2. Since LPT3 works, does this mean that any
device you have set up in WIN95 will work?
