renaming files

I've begun using a free utility that makes it extremely easy to rename files
in a directory. It's called Oscar's Renamer, and is free:

The basic idea is that all of the files in a directory are listed in a
window that treats the entire list as an ordinary text file. Along with a
few basic editing commands, it adds Swap Case, Upper Case, Lower Case,
Capitalize and Add Number. You can also create, save and load simple
keystroke macros. Once you've changed the names as you like, you can select
"Apply Changes" and the program changes the actual directory names.

This seems like something that could at least be *duplicated* within
XyWrite, and possibly improved. Oscar's Renamer can be added to the
right-click menu for all programs that use Windows' file-open routine, so
it's not internally available to XyWrite and NB.
