Commands that operate on filenames -- notably CAll a/k/a EDit,
and REad -- can be placed on the CMline by themselves (no
argument), and the filename supplied by pointing to it (putting
the cursor on it) in a DIRectory listing. The change to $X
enables this kind of operation with the <$Xkey>.

The command has to be *on the CMline*. BX expressly executes the
command away from the CMline. To do point-and-shoot with BX and
a DIR listing, you need:

>BX ca Q2 ;*;
