Carl,
This is a belated "Thank you" for your explanation, posted long ago, on
Xy4's enhancements to XPL.
I'm working on some items in a comma-separated database, and it's given me
occasion to use the VA@ feature for extracting a substring.
For those unfamiliar with this, here's the bit from Carl's post of 6/13/02:
-------------------------------------
An extension to VA@ allows easy extraction of segments delimited by a
separator. Suppose this:
;*; Data
Then =="Spring", =="Summer", etc.
------------------------------------
It's much easier to do > than to search for the third comma
in a line, or parse it. And much cleaner.
Thanks again for calling this, and the other, enhancements to our
attention, and explaining them.
