This is all great feedback, and I feel more comfortable venturing to do the
big *switch*! Now if I can find a way to retrieve some of my data from my
laptop hard drive, which I have been able to find and pull out, - but now
what to do? I'd know what to do with a desktop.
Thanks all,
Mimi Gauthier LeBien

VPC is still being maintained by Microsoft (Their MS for Mac site is
www.mactopia.com) they've just announced a soon to be released VPC
Ver. 7.0. How VPC will change from the original Connectix versions has
yet to be seen.
I had read that MS bought Connectix VPC to develop it for Windows OS so
that XP users would be able to run older Win OS on XP machines!
One may be able to find Connectix VPC for Mac OS on a shelf at an Apple
Store or CompUSA. I actually found version 3.0 bundled with Win 98 SE
for $40 at a Staples Office store in Winter Haven FL last year and then
purchased an upgrade for $99 from the Apple Store in Tampa.
