Slogan schmogan. The thing needs rebranding with a really compelling and
marketable name - like Signature or SmartWords.
Yet that didn't work, for whatever reason. Well, SmartWords never actually
existed, did it?
Speaking of which, how is the latter-day development of Xywrite/NB getting on?
I don't think XyWrite would need a slogan other than 'Why wait?'. You'd
just need an ad comparing benchmarks with MS Word. Simple stuff like file
open, search/replace, etc. Recently I had (to bring up an unpleasant
subject) to replace about 20 space-spaces with single spaces in a one-page
MSW 2000 document. It took an amazingly long time on a 1 Gigahertz P3
system--perhaps as much as 30 seconds? And yes, we may be living in an age
of very extreme sloganeering, but there's bound to be a reaction in favor
of the more retro style perhaps pioneered by all those Frankfurt Institute
social scientists who got into marketing in the US.
