Sure there are others, however much in the minority,
and you CAN mention this. 'Nix users are probably not
running Wurgh, and they are certainly far more
numerous than most of the other niches combined. I
don't know what Mac users are writing with, but it
probably doesn't matter since their market share is
fairly negligible. I know a tech guy who does most of
his writing in Preditor, although that's going to be
an odd exception. There were at least 3 native word
processors made for OS/2, plus its users had
continuing access to anything that would run under DOS
or Win-16. I also have two full office suites --
available on a multi-platform basis -- that emulate
most of the programs in MS Office, at least to the
extent that one can import and export the relevant
file formats. And I just got another periodic update
notice from the folks who put out WordPort. I'm going
to ignore it, just like the last 12 update notices,
because their conversion program isn't all that good
and they refuse to fix the longstanding GPFs and other
issues, but WHY are they even still in business if no
one out there is using non-WURGH writing software ?
MS still doesn't entirely own the known universe.
The Chinese have told Gates & Co. to go take a flying
leap, and that's one gigantic market.
