No need to fix these manually. Simply read the file into EditPad Lite (freeware) and choose
"Convert, Text Encoding" from the menu. To make this even easier I use *.TXB for ASCII
files. Make a new file type in the "Options, Configure File Types" menu with TXB ending
and choose DOS 437 for the default encoding. This ensures that EditPad knows the encoding and all
you have to do is to choose a destination encoding in the "Convert, Text Encoding" menu.
You could incorporate the actual ANSI high-bit characters into your Xy keyboard file, but the result
is not self-evident as characters shown are wrong as ASCII. There is a work-around which means
messing around with DOS fonts (ANSI-fying them), but hardly worth the trouble.
