If the cd drive is empty, try putting any cd into it and try again. I seem
to recall that the installation program tries to read all drives at one
point in its programming and if it can't read the CD it has a problem and
stops. Putting anything into the drive for it to read lets it proceed past
that point.

Subject: Re trying to install xy4
People tell me that xy4 is better than iiia, so I'm trying to install it. (I
bought it when it was current, but didn't like it at first.)
Now trying to put in on a Toshiba Satellite with windows xp, installing in
cmd window. Early on the install freezes because it says "door of drive d is
open." d is my cd drive, and it's closed. So far, I haven't found a way past
this.
Can anybody offer a suggestion?
Somone said xy4 is available on the net. Would that be easier to install
than from the original discs?
my one problem with iiia is that I'm tired of looking at white on black, and
little choice of type. Is there an improvement for iiia?
