Paul B.'s recent complaint that the Microlytics UK spell-checker isn't functional in vDosXy prompted me to look into alternatives. I landed on an old reliable: the Windows port of Unix's Aspell. There's a plethora of spelling dictionaries for it, including various flavors of English -- US, UK and Canadian with and without accents. If you normally spell-check "on the fly" (current file or DeFined block), the interface is very similar to the Microlytics one. (Unfortunately, there is no spell-to-file or "batch spell" mode, as far as I can tell.) A new U2 routine, ASPL, acts as a Xy4 front-end to Aspell. The frame and setup instructions are attached. For your convenience, I've combined the multi-file Aspell documentation into a single text file, here: http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/aspell.txt If there's interest in an Aspell front end for Xy3, let me know and I'll put something together. -- Carl Distefano cld@xxxxxxxxAttachment: ASPELL.XY4
