Windows has this ability, too (as did DOS): the SUBST command. I assign
my Dropbox folder to drive X: on all of my machines, so it's in the
same virtual place, if not in the same physical drive, on each machine.
I've kept XyWrite on Dropbox for years. Works a charm, and my
customizations stay in sync on all machines. This has been discussed
here before, but Dropbox's version-control feature is a godsend. It's
saved my bacon more than once.
