You mean, in the same sense that DOS or XyWrite are abandoned?

Why continue to develop a program once it is perfected? DOSEMU
works.

It's in the nature of open source that if Linux evolves in a
direction that breaks DOSEMU, somebody will fix it. Maybe you,
even, in the unlikely event that nobody else steps in -- because
you're motivated and you need it.
