Re: CLIP and OOM and Winword

This time with a proper subject line...

 CAll U2, find frame ClipW*, go down to where it says
"", and insert -- before the -- func "FF
DO ", then "LOADHELP" (just copy the functions from
elsewhere if you don't know how to make them, with the PFUN command). Try to
Paste. Do you still see "Here!" on the PRompt line? If so, move "FF DO
" to the hind ! side of , "LH", and try to Paste
again. Do you still see the "Here!" prompt? Then move this block down to just
before "JM 2.ScrnRestQ2 ", and try again ("LH", then Paste). Keep
moving this block toward the end of the frame, until the frame crashes. ... How many
lines of text does your screen display? Do you work fullscreen or in a Desktop
window?

I attempted to slavishly follow your debugging instructions, tho! ugh I did make the text RIGHT HERE! so I couldn't possibly miss it. I'm attaching the line as a plain old no-extension XY file.

But RIGHT HERE!  didn't show up on the PRompt line. When I put it in the first place you suggested and then using my Paste key

44=NOJM c,l,i,p,w,p Q2

then RIGHT HERE! showed up in the copy wherever I placed it: beginning, middle, end, even the end of a much longer file. Copying new WIndows text (with CTRL-C) didn't dislodge RIGHT HERE!

When I moved the line  to the next spot, nothing happened with the Paste key. Ditto for later placements.  I hope this is potentially diagnostic.

Thanks,

Jon Pareles
