In re.... slugs and searches.

I have something like that, too. I keep very long file of notes
to myself: little tidbits of information I pick up in my work as
an economist and researcher. Offtimes, I'll have related files
of subject matter elsewhere on the disk. In my notes file, I
enter the filename of the related material, such as "See
d:\papers\stuff.doc".  I programmed ALT-SHIFT-L (for
LINK) to pick up the filename, do a BC CA  XC, and up
pops the related file.

Its crude, but it works well for me.
