Most of us have KBD files that go *way* back. Ever find
something in there that you no longer have any good idea what
it's supposed to do ? I've found one, and no doubt will find
others. Here 'tis:
59=Q1,YD,XD
;; Caps/SHFT-F1 {Cmd. Window Save from std. XY-4 kbd.}
The annotation is surely mine, but at this point I can't say if
this was something stock, or a macro I put in years ago. If so,
it probably harks back to Xy-3. In Xy-4, it seems to have no
effect whatsoever. Back in Xy-3, I recall being able to open XY
triangles for editing, _without_ having to switch from Formatted
to Expanded view -- probably the Command Window in question --
then close the small "window-within-a-window" after the edit.
And then, at some point, this was no longer available, for
whatever reason. It _may have_ coincided with my changeover to
Xy-4. Can I restore this feature, and if so, how ?
On a semi-related topic, I recently added Carl's suggested Define
Extender to my KBD file, plus this item (in the CTRL table) :
87=Q1,BT,xc
;; Toggle window border On/Off
It works, but has some conflict with the dedicated U2 Helpkey,
producing an Error Beep & message. I could always move it
somewhere else, but the mnemonic seemed solid to me, relating as
it does to cleaning up after U2 Help, where I find the residual
Window Border annoying. Is there some NO or NI type thing I
could employ, to smooth over the conflict ?
