I don't have to toggle into full screen to get graphics view.
All I have to do is type func wz on the command line, or
in my case press Shift F8, while in the DOS window, and the
screen becomes full screen Graphics view. When I want to
leave Graphics view, I press Alt F8, and I am back to my
text, but in full screen. If I want to get a Dos window, and
I usually do, I have to press Alt + Enter. Now, this is not
the problem. That is what I expect to happen, and I am satisfied
when it does.
But for some reason that I cannot put my finger on, of late,
when I attempted to go into Graphics view (and this is erratic,
in the sense that it does not always happen--I must do some
to cause it to take place, but I and having difficulty detecting
what it is that I do, since I don't catch myself doing anything
different) I get the message "No screen fonts." And then the
programme locked up. Now, the question is "why"? The screen
fonts are clearly there. That is to say, they have not been
deleted. And there have been no changes made to the STARTUP.INT
file, or to any other file that might afftect this, as far as I
can tell. Now, as I mentioned, when this happens, I can only
exit the programme by forcing an exit by closing the dos window
in Windows XP. When I reload the programme, I discover that
my forced exit has not corrected anything, that is to say, I
still do not have the access to Graphics view. So, something
must get deleted along the line, and likely this is before I
force exit the programme. Now, maybe if I did not force exit
the programme, and were able to exit normally, this would not
happen. But I have no choice not to force exit, since my cursor
is stuck.
I'll have to study this closely. My description of the phenomenon
is correct, but clearly something else is happening that is not
immediately obvious.
Again, thank you all.
