Most users have little choice, these days. (King William has seen to that.) Otherwise, you have to
be among the
techno-elite with Linux or one of the other -ix flavors, an outcast non-conformist with OS/2, or a
true iconoclast
with BEOS or a Mac. I tolerate NT because I ike to run a few Win-32 things like PhotoShop sometimes
(but if the
ODIN project ever really succeeds, even this will become unneccesary), and because it is pretty
stable -- by far
the best Win I've seen to date. I've had to support a few users of W95/98, at a fairly basic level.
No way would
I consider myself among the more knowledgeable users of that OS, but I've seen enough serious
shortcomings and
flakey behavior from it that I really dislike having to mess with it.
