Hello all,
vDos-lfn for XyWrite 1.54 has the all recent enhancements in the area of
display font support Wengier has made, as well as the new commenting
styles, and mouse wheel support. Many thanks to Wengier for making this
possible! Carl and Wengier have also been most helpful in reviewing the
installer. This is a community effort, and with so many helping hands we
cannot fail!
Much of my work involved making the installer compatible with the new
comments. The installer now remembers your previous choices of XyWrite
installation path and editor name. There is even a new option to make
the editor run in the XyWrite folder (lines added by the installer to
AUTOEXEC.TXT to change to XyWrite drive and folder). This option can be
useful for Xy3 and NB3 users.
The restore settings feature is now more versatile. It produces four
output files: an AUTOEXEC.TXT with some of your previous options
restored, the CONFIG.TXT proper with restored settings (using the new
commenting syntax), a CONFIG_D.TXT, which contains the vDos-lfn for
XyWrite default settings, and CONFIG_C.TXT, a non-verbose version of
config.txt which has only the current settings in alphabetical order. If
you are running the vDos-lfn for XyWrite 1.54 in an empty folder for the
first time, selecting Restore settings produces the concise CONFIG_C.TXT
file even when there is nothing to restore (CONFIG_C.TXT is a by-product
of the Restore settings process). Rerunning the installer with restore
enabled can fix your config.txt for missing directives and explanatory
matter accidentally deleted. Or you can reset your config.txt to
installer defaults when restore is not enabled.
