I'm a (lousy) pianist and touch typist, but after considerable experience,
I still find it waaaay inferior to a mouse--inferior in terms of the
mousing around part, it's better in regard to not having to take your hands
off the "home keys," of course.
Yup, most people didn't like it. But unlike mice, trackball and
trackpads, it was/is always right there in the middle of the home
keys. As a pianist and touch typist, I liked that feature.
