Without minimizing the usefulness of DEL26, I think that Dorothy's
point -- that EOFs shouldn't be there in the first place -- bears
repeating.
The concern is not merely the inconvenience of not being able to
read past the EOF. It's the loss of data that occurs when programs
such as XyWrite and Hacksaw (and probably other mail clients as
well) write the file to disk, discarding (poof indeed) everything
after the first EOF. DEL26 won't help subscribers who get a daily
digest that's truncated at the end of Morris Krok's first post.
That's the real PITA, and why Morris (and everyone else) should take
Dorothy's admonition to heart.
