Would you mind omitting the constantly repeated political quotation
after your signature? You are not the only one guilty of this irritating
breach of netiquette: lengthy quotations from Descartes and strange garble in
ancient Celtic dialects mar the contributions of writers to other lists I
read. Others on this list sometimes can't stop with giving us their
name(s) but must add some lengthy boilerplate that just clutters the
messages up. And detracts from the often valuable things they have to say.
The cuteness of these literary tidbits (and I am sure you feel yours is
both cute and acute) loses its impact after the first couple of repeats.
If writers *must* add irrelevant comments, they should be original each
time and not programmed selections from Famous Quotations or the like.
Scolding done. Class, resume your work.
