Re: Status Of Chain Print Problem

For what it's worth, the "third file" in this chained set is an artificial
substitute for the real third file, which was roughly the same in content and
formatting complexity as files one and two. The procedure bombed with the
"real" thrid file, as with the simple 27-byte substitute third file. Also,
FYI, I have stripped from these files all LaBels and Index markers and REP
markers, to reduce the complexity of the files. (Not, frankly, that I consider
them complex.) Moreover, I have broken them into smaller 50K files as an
experiment, without success. But frankly, I don't think that it's incumbent on
me to do this sort of experimentation. A 128K file with a moderate amount of
formatting is puny. You speak of 1600 mode commands as if it were an
unreasonable number of them! Since these are italicised words, consisting of
MDIT and MDNM pairs, we're talking about 800 words out of maybe 20,000 in each
file that are italicized. Big deal.
