You might also want to try Servant Salamander (I have no idea what the
origin of the name is). It was freeware until earlier this year (or last
year?); now it costs about $25 as shareware. It's a great program, including
panes for two directories, a command line, the ability to set up the launch
of favorite programs, handling of zip files, and much more. I've used it for
several years, and I've never considered going back to Windows Explorer. You
can find it at www.altap.cz.
