You probably don't want the modes at all. From the command line replace
≪MD{N}{N}≫ with nothing and then do the same for ≪MD{N}≫ with nothing. The
bracketed N's stand for wildcard numbers. Make with alt plus shift plus N.
The 6's and 11's are Dos color modes. That is, your original document was, for
some reason, color coded. In XyWin of course you have indeed introduced a mess,
but then XyWin is a mess and if you are using it you must expect such oddities.
You might well wish to view this document in the Dos version just to see if you
need the color coding at all.
And finally, as I always say to people with XyWin questions: Purchase Nota Bene
for Windows and then remove XyWin from your system, and your memory (yours, not
your computer's) forever and ever. And no, I do not know or care to know how to
reinstall XyWin on Win 9X and above systems.
