Long ago in Xy3 I made up a file consisiting of single lines like
MD 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
MD 222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222
MD 333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
. . .
through I forget what -- maybe MD 100 -- each in its own colors.
It led me to use & like some combinations I'd have never considered
if proposed in words such as 'red-purple on black' (MD 12, according
to memory).
(Think of Harold W. Ross: 'It's Delft, or Alice, or some goddam
shade.')
